The COLOUR ALCHEMY formulas include five bold shades that are specially designed for dark hair bases (depth 1-6). The temporary hair colour comes in a convenient, easy to apply gel-cream formula, that involves no development time and lasts just one wash. Apply COLOUR ALCHEMY products to clean, dry hair. The ready-to-use colour gel can be applied by using a brush, sponge or with hands.
The unique holographic hair colour effects are produced by the combination of both heat and light including:
- Natural warmth of the head or sunlight
- The flash of a mobile phone or camera
- Moving between light and shade
- Moving between hot and cold areas
- Restyling of the hair
- Wind passing through the hair
The heat-reactive hair colour supported by thermochromic technology triggers a colour change within a temperature window between 28°C to 32°C. The crystal formula replicates the visual effect of a prism, with each shade scattering the light in a range of kaleidoscopic hues.

Think about make-up, face cream or face foundation – a single, fine layer of colour is sufficient for the desired colour effect. Using more product will not intensify the effect, but might in turn significantly compromise the hair feel.
Yes, depending on the Schwarzkopf Professional COLOUR ALCHEMY shade, we recommend using it only on depths 1 to 6, as the effect you can observe is a mixture of the light reflected by the hair and the result of the colour reflected by the prism. Therefore the effect is more visible with darker hair colour.
Yes! On curly and kinky hair, please use the soft blender for the best colour results.
